General Registration

If you:

  • hold an Australian or New Zealand qualification; and
  • have successfully completed your 48 weeks pre-registration training in Australia or New Zealand; and
  • are not registered in another Australian State or Territory;
you will need to provide the Board with the following to be eligible for registration in Queensland:
  • the Application for General Registration form; and
  • the necessary supporting documentation (as described in the application form and accompanying Information Sheet); and
  • the required fee (as stated in the information sheet).

The application form and Information Sheet can be downloaded from the Applications Forms page of this website.

Once all of the above requirements are received in the Office, your application will be considered by the Board at its next scheduled meeting, and if approved, you will receive General Registration.

(If you are an overseas student who returned to your country of residency after completion of your degree and did not complete the 48 weeks pre-registration training period in Australia or New Zealand, the Board will require you to undertake a substantial period of pre-registration training and successfully complete a forensic assessment prior to being granted registration. The period of pre-registration required will be considered on a case by case basis.)

Please note: Incomplete applications will be returned for completion without registration being granted.
