Deceased Estates

Section 240(1) of the Pharmacists Registration Act 2001 states that the Executor, Administrator or Trustee of a deceased registrant may continue to operate the pharmacy formerly owned by the deceased registrant for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date of the registrant's death or for such further time as may be permitted by the Board, provided that the pharmacy is under the actual personal supervision and management of a Queensland registered pharmacist whose name shall be notified to the Board by the Executor, Administrator or Trustee.

The Executor, Administrator or Trustee must advise the Board of the sale of the pharmacy on the relevant Change of Ownership form, which can be downloaded by following the link. Please be advised that the purchaser/s must also complete the relevant form.
